On Friday, June 19, Mr. Hu and I met with 33 of about 50 high school graduates in Ningguo to talk about how to choose colleges (complicated) and how to survive and succeed in college. I also chat with a few students afterwards individually at the meeting room (belongs to the Department of Education). Here are a few. More are at 2015 Summer 3

Ye Guowei has been supported by us since 2004. His parents died in 2002, and his grandpa died in 2008. He now lives with his grandma with diabetes and his unmarried uncle. His uncle supports him and the family. He is very mature and independent. He has already started to work at a local Night Food stand (he worked the previous night until 4am). He has been sponsored by Jianjun Wang family since 2004. He will major in art.

This girl lives with her parents and his grandma of 85 at a very rural area. His father has heart disease and surgery. She has been sponsored by Vicky since her 2nd grade.

This girl lives with her mom. Her father had a car accident in 2007 and died later. Her mom works at a local restaurant to support her. She has been sponsored by Jasmine since 2009.

This girl lives with her parents. Her mom has chronicle disease for a long time and has developed kidney failure recently. She has been Sophia Sun since 7th grade.

This girl lives with her grandparents of 70s, her parents, her younger sister (6th grade), and brother (2nd grade). Her parents work very hard at a local factory to support the family.

Letter communication is another important part of this program. Please see
